UC San Diego LGBT Resource Center Affiliate Program
Our Affiliates Program is currently on hiatus for the 2023-2024 school year. For questions please contact rainbow@ucsd.edu.
Program Objectives
- Direct communication between LGBT Resource Center and UC San Diego LGBTQIA+ organizations
- Create visibility around LGBTQIA+ issues on campus through partnership and collaboration
- Provide leadership opportunities and professional development opportunities to LGBTQIA+ leaders
Program Perks
- Priority reservation of LGBT Resource Center including evening and weekend usage
- Organization outreach support through our Signature Programming and Marketing outlets including but not limited to QCAMP outreach, highlights in our Rainbow Newsletter, and social media platforms
- Leadership & Professional Development Training through our Affiliate leadership series
- Access to office supplies (copies, art supplies, etc.)
- LGBT Resource Center co-sponsorship funding for programming/meetings
- Support from UCSD LGBT Resource Center volunteers through our Trent Lawley Volunteer program
Group Requirements
- Group representatives must be registered UC San Diego students
- Group’s mission must align with the vision, mission, values of the UC San Diego LGBT Resource Center
- Groups must meet UC San Diego LGBT Resource Center’s policies
- Affiliate groups must volunteer for at least 1 center program
Program Requirements
- 2 Group Representatives (for student groups) are required to participate in Affiliates leadership quarterly event (Fall, Winter, Spring)
- 1 Group Representative is required to meet with Assistant Director once a quarter to discuss Affiliate responsibilities
- 1 Group Representative is required to meet with Operations Coordinator to train on center closing procedures & policies
- Group is required to support by support our LGBTQIA+ Welcome Event, Out and Proud Week, and supporting Rainbow Graduation
- Application must be renewed once a year
Timeline
- Application deadline for each quarter Friday of Week 2
- Once application is reviewed, LGBTRC Assistant Director will contact you to discuss application, additional reservation forms may need to completed
- Once group is accepted into Affiliate program, representative will meet with LGBTRC Operations Coordinator to discuss closing procedures & policies
