LGBTQIA+ Film Festival

Are you interested in film? Do you identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community? Do you want to see yourself represented here at UC San Diego? Deadlines and Timeline:

The film festival will be held during Week 6 of Spring Quarter 2020 (May 3, 2020 -- May 8, 2020).

LGBTQIA+ Film Festival Registration: End of Week 3, Spring Quarter

Final Film Submission Due: Week 5 of Spring Quarter, May 1, 2020.

Requirements and Selection Criteria:

  • Films must be at least 10 minutes long and not surpass 2 hours.
  • ALL FILMS MUST BE SUBMITTED TO rainbow@ucsd.edu in mp4 FORMAT THE WEEK BEFORE ASSIGNED SHOWING DATE.
  • Film Festival participants must be UC San Diego Students.
  • The LGBTQIA+ Film Festival is focused on centering the experiences and work of filmakers that identity as Queer and Trans People of Color.

 

FAQ+ Resources

Q: Do I have to be a student to participate? 

A: Yes, you can be either a undergraduate student or graduate student currently attending UC San Diego. 

 

Q: I don't have a camera, where can I borrow one? 

A: You can borrow cameras from the Tech Lending Program on the 2nd Floor of Giesel Library, The Media Teaching Lab, or use your phone camera. 

Q: What are some films that feature QTPOC folks? 

A: Some films include Tangerine, All in My Family, De Colores. You can check out this website for inspiration for your film or this website too.
